About

A talk exploring optical phenomena across visual design disciplines. Product designer Issac Scott walks through how human vision actually works and then examines where illusion shows up in graphics, interface design, typography and animation, from everyday UI misreads to deliberate perceptual tricks. Expect practical takeaways on how perception shapes the way people read a screen or a page, plus plenty of examples to argue about. Doors open at 4:00 PM and the talk begins at 4:30 PM. Free and open to the public, presented by AIGA Portland in partnership with Portland Design Month. Useful for product designers, front-end developers, illustrators and anyone who builds things people have to look at. https://www.eventbrite.com/e/optical-illusions-in-design-and-beyond-tickets-1999235792072
