Bridgetown Forge Workshop: Forging a Cleaver

A two-day hands-on blacksmithing workshop at Bridgetown Forge, part of ADX Fest. Participants create an 8-inch blade cleaver from a bar of high-carbon steel, stamp it with their initials, harden and temper it so the back stays tough while the edge is hard and durable, attach a hickory handle, and hone it to razor sharpness. The workshop covers both hand forging and power hammer techniques. It runs Saturday and Sunday, 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM each day. The course fee of 580 dollars includes all materials and safety supplies, and participants keep their finished cleaver.
