Bridgetown Forge Workshop: Forging a Sword

A hands-on, two-day blacksmithing intensive at Bridgetown Forge, offered as part of ADX Fest. Participants learn sword forging techniques that combine hand-hammering, sledgehammer striking, and pneumatic power hammer work. Starting from a square steel bar, each student forges a unique double-edged sword with an integral handle shaped from one continuous piece of steel -- no welding, riveting, or fasteners. The design grew out of the instructor's work developing a Caucasus Mountain dagger variant. No prior blacksmithing experience is necessary. The workshop runs Saturday and Sunday, 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM each day, and the course fee of 580 dollars includes all materials. Registration is handled through the Bridgetown Forge website.
